OK just remember a conversation from last night. My ears pricked up with the mention of Rent-a-Bug here in Australia but they couldn't fill in details for me, like where in Oz.

Does anyone know if they are the same company/people

Know they are in Tassie cos I've rented from them😎

There is a place in Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast QLD) that hires out Convertible Bugs, I'm not sure what they are called though.
Saddest sight I ever saw was a lovely little convertible bug in the Woolies carpark with beer swilling hoons sittin in it and on it. They drove off with two of them perched on the top of the back seat (I was hoping the driver would either slam on the brakes or turn a corner fast).

I know I've rented from them in Hobart a couple of years ago......If ever I was gunna rent in Tassie again I'd be using them!! :thumb

When got home Bel my 58 was sitting by the side of the road for sale...We bought her....😎

I think he's had a mention in a post ages ago Marcel....Was he the one selling them as well...at inflated prices or something?...Oops .... don't want to spread false rumours or anything....

The bug I hired in Hobart was called Marigold...cos she was orange!!...How cool is that a car hire place that names their cars!!!😎

I've lived in byron for a long while and i've never seen the guy who rents kombi's...there is a guy on the goldcoast who does

he said he rented the kombi to the people who filmed the peter falconio recreation film thingy

I've only ever heard of the ones in Tassie.....
I'd like to go over one day and thought that would be the way to go....

I've never heard of them anywhere else....

I guess you have to love beetles to hire them....and be familiar with driving an older type car

Most people who hire cars want automatics....aircon.....CD players.....etc...etc....and you can get them almost as cheap....
