"Sliding door nylon bush, guide and roller worn"
what do i need to do?
Get a new one
thats easier said than done ByronBus, but thanks anyway,
When you say "guide and roller" what are you refering to? do you have a pic at all?
byronbus is correct , 2nd hand bits are of course an option
but may not last long, the nylon bush can simply break in half'
as in my case. luckily I got a good second hand assembly , but be aware that there are about 3 different types, all interchangable as an assembly, but only some of the bits interchangable between assemblies
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54
This is a pic of my mechanism. Alas this is a bad photo but as you can sort of see it is very very worn and i hold no hope for it. If yours is like this i recomend you find another.
I seem to recall hearing of people making new rollers and blocks from skateboard wheels but have not seen it or know how it would work out. hope that may help.
Do yourself a favour, when you do replace the roller and bush, remove the door catch assembly at the back of the door and soak it overnight in kerosene, wash it off with water dry it out and then use a spray grease in the mech. That way the door will close with very little effort like it was new.
