the front ends are not the same the shape is way wrong

Type 3 pans are wider than a Beetle.

Type 3 replacement pans are NOT available

Type 1 or Beetle pans are available but only the later shape which can be adapted for early modles.
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
