I've had differerent answers from the couple of people i've asked so i'm hoping someone on here can definetley clear it up for me.Do I by law have to have seatbelts or because of the age of the car(1967)is it not legally so??
I do intend to get seatbelts but not till after the body/paint work is done & seeing as though there will be no plates on her there may be a good chance i'll get pulled over.

PLease Help............😠
Seat belts were compulsory from about Sept 1971.
However if they are fitted you must wear them

How much would it cost do ya reckon for belts to be put in a 1962 beetle and approved?

I would ring Vicroads and ask them. And get his/her name if they say you won't need them.

hey splitty chick we had seat belt anchorage points welded in our 58 bus while it was having other welding done, better than the bolts that stick through the pillars, which I think are now illegal in Qld
