Are there any differences between 1974 and 1977 kombis that would be distinguishable in a photograph? ie different aerial mount or something?

maybe the seats are a bit different and the steering wheel

yes. but it depends where you are looking, ie what the photos show
the handle cutout on the sliding door is different. The latches on the engine lid and rear door will be black plastic on the 77 and chrome on the 74 the 77 has no hatch over the fuel filler and the 74 will...... the list goes on. post the photos and I'll tell you which one is which 🙂
