Need some purchase advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys,

I am new to the AVD site and to VWs for that matter. I am looking to buy a type 3 fasty in the near future however.

My dilemma is I have two fasty's to choose from, and don't know which one to buy.

The first which I mentioned in a previous post is a 67, straight body, the engine is good but there is some minor rust in the doors and under drivers door sil. The paint is tired as is the interior. It's price is $2700 with roadworthy and reg

The second fasty is actually being advertised at the moment on this site in the for sale forum area.
He is asking $4200 but will deal for $3500. The body looks straight with no visible rust, but it has been home resprayed in that mat finish. The gearbox needs replacing and while the seller assures me the engine is good, it has not been started for over 6 months, the inside is pretty nice, it has mags but has no reg or roadworthy.

WHAT SHOULD I DO???? OR WHAT WOULD YOU DO????

I take it from one of the for sale posts you decided. Which did you go for???

Me it would depend on did I need the car now, or could I wait?
Need it now and I would most likely have gone for the first one.
Could I wait, well. actually still the first one.
