Does anyone know how to secure the petrol cap/filler flap on an early bay.
Some little F*%#ers milked my tank last night and stole my cap.
And no I don't want to put a pad lock on the outside of the flap.
It seems that you can't get locking caps for early bays?
Do later buses use a different cap that can lock?
Any ideas/suggestions...........:duh
i have a aftermarket locking cap on my 70 bus but i cant tell you where to get one as it came with it when i bought it 8 years ago

You could fit a sliding bolt lock to the inside of the flap which you could slide back with a magnet from the outside.
You never know, it might work.
I have a locking petrol flap on my 71 delux, maybe you can find an old scrapper somewhere.

That would be great. I want the security of being able to lock it up but I don't want ot butcher it. Until I get it fixed the van has to live in the back yard. ( not very practical). If you could find something that would be awesome........🙂
where the pipe joins the rubber hose to the fuel tank you can fit some perforated sheet so they cant get the hose in the tank, or better still, have the filler inside the back of the van and the original filler go into a 20L drum in the van, (sealed of course) which contains a mix of urine, chilli powder and dog shit. 🙂

Would a beetle locking cap fit? say from a super? I got a cap from the wreckers and got the key cut to suit it. works a treat.
