I suggest however, that if you'd like some REAL punk, not just emo popsters pretending to be hardcore anti-establishment heroes, try some old school tunes from Bad Religion and Sex Pistols if you'd like some harder stuff. other more modern punk groups worth a listen are Greenday (of course!), Millencolin, Goldfinger, NoFx (and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes), Rancid, No Use for a Name, Jimmy Eat World (a bit crap/poppish though). Even try the blink 182 side project, BoxCar Racer.
