Hi all
How are you? My first post and hoping someone can help?
Can anyone please tell me how much I could expect to pay for a 71 beetle 1300 in almost mint original condition?? What is the most you would pay??
I have owned a couple of beetles in my time, and currently have a couple of other beetles to work on - so looking forward to picking your brains and getting to know some of you over time....
So what do ya reckon about the price??
about 3 grand or more if its original
well thats what im asking for this one

3 grand - seriously?? I haven't seen much around for 3g's - let alone a beautiful original beetle owned by the same guy for 30yrs?? Looked at one last night for 4g's - and it wasn't a patch on the one in question (mind you I think she was dreamin' for 4g's)
it all depends on the nasty rust stuff. look in the lower corners of the windscreen, the corners of the rear window and down near the battery under the rear seat. cause it costs big money and time to fix.

Anyone else got any advice? I could really do with the help!!

tiniest bit on one side front window (not showing yet but starting to bubble) - haven't looked under back seat/battery yet - but it looks so schmick - still say 3g's??
its hard to say without seeing the car i mean ive got 2 and ones worth 8gs( modified) and the stock of the same model is only 3 gs and it has rust

Sorry Barls - I didn't see your second line (about the one you were offering for 3g's) - so please don't think I was dissin' your beetle for 3g's. Looks good - but your in New south - I'm in Vic - and going by the pics, the one I'm talkin' about - fully original (seats, mats, etc etc). It's so beatiful, I guess I'm wanting someone to tell me I should pay more than 3 (but at the same time - the truth is what I need!!)
none taken mate

Ok - so you say 3gs's (max) for an original mint condition - no interior damage to roof/seats/carpets - exterior perfect - all fully functional, engine perfect with service history?? Everything original??
Have a look at our beetle in the Panel & Paint section. It is the one at the top of the postings. It was $175, and you can see exactly what had to be done to it. It is now a very nice little vehicle, and if we got the motor fully rebuilt would owe us about $3000.
don't set yourself a limit of 3k max, the car is worth however much your willing to pay and the owner is willing to take. IF it is really mint and in almost perfect condition, it may be worth more with hidden rust it may be worth less.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
