Hi all

Up front I apologise for what may sound like stupid questions - but I'm learning OK....

Where is the 'frame head' and how do I check if it is straight?

Will the pan from a 70 superbug fit onto a standard 70 1500 and how do I check that it is in good nick prior to doing so??

If you look at the front "beam",this is what the brakes, wheels and suspension is all attached to.
Now that you are lying under the front of the car with the beam in view, cast your eye's to what the "beam" is attached to.
This is the "frame head"
It should be ok,as If it has had a large front ender, the beam with all its bits would cerntainly go first. You would be able to see the wheels facing all over the shot anyway.

no a superbug pan will not fit under that body as it has a macpherson strut front end and your 1500 bug will have a beam front end. and your super bug though made in late 70 will infact be a 71 model.\

you could however chop the macpherson strut frame head off the pan and weld a beam front end frame head on for a pretty ideal pan with strong front suspension and independant rear.
