Had a weird thing happen yesterday arvo as i was packing up my market stall down on the Esplanade in St Kilda.
One of my fellow stallholders who drives a VW transporter went to start her car & discovered she was out of petrol. So being the nice fellow dubber i am i drove her to the servo to get some petrol & dropped her back at her car.We realised being a newer car it has a little flap thing where the petrol goes & realised we needed a funnel. So we jumped back in my kombi to head back to the servo & to our surprise my kombi was totally dead!!We sat in amazement & couldn't help but laugh coz we'd just been driving it 2 mins before.Anyway i call the RACV & luckily they say someone will be there in 20 mins so we were standing next to our cars waiting when this VW golf comes rolling along with a couple of guys pushing it & it rolls up totally dead & stops straight behind my kombi.
There we were 3 stranded veedubs all in a row.Neither of the other 2 were with RACV so when he arrived he gave a funnel to the girl with the transporter who now also had a flat battery from trying to start it.He then preceded to jump start all 3 of us (the other 2 for no charge)& as all our dubs started running we all laughed said our goodbyes & figured that our dubs must have just wanted to catch up with each other & have a chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!😉
ahah how coincidental

Freaky! I hope I neaver come across this area.
youve got to love a car that breaks down just cos it wants to catch up with some friends...
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
hehe, know not to go driving with you now!

Mandie that is unbelievable...but coming from you I know it's d truth!!!!
It must have meant to be...a bonding of unrelated VW people....the universe works in mysterious ways you know :alien
At least with so many others like you ..... temporarily stranded...you knew you were not alone and could laugh it off rather than be pissed off 😀
So did the RACV guy know anything about VW's....that's my question...hate breaking down and they know nothing!!! Lock the keys in Drl a few weeks ago..(as you know Mandie!!) and the guy was an ex sand dune bashing kombi owner...talked for ages about his past love.....hopefully he went hope regretting he gave them up.... 🙂
Excellent story
well as they say " it happens in threes", and time does fly when in good company. Happy endings are great
It was sooo weird.....don't think he knew much about VW's Jen but luckily it was just the batterys. He was a really cool guy & thought the evenings event were quite bizarre. The weird thing was that the other two were almost new cars.......i asked everyone if they had a camera on them to capture the occasion but alas no one did!
