Hey guys,
I am planning to buy some items off cbperformance.com.
I was just wondering exactly what the process for purchasing stuff from overseas is. Is there any duty or customs stuff that I need to deal with?
Has anyone bought stuff from cb or other places such as cip1.com and how easy has the process been?
Any info would be great, as one of the parts I need is US$12.99 on cb.... but its AU$45 from an 'unnamed' vw parts place in melbourne!!
I get most of my parts direct from the States.
ISP West and CB Performance are my "locals" if you know what i mean.
I have 6 dubs and about 9 engines...So that means alot of parts.
I havent had a single problem with either of them.
They are both great communicators and will answer any Q's you have.
The trick i found to be better our end is to have your stock dropped off to your work or a place where you are through the working hours.
That way you are always there to recieve it.
You should get a total inc shipping from the email/invioce they send you.
After you do the funds tranfer, sit back and wait for the goodies to come.
I go air mail,a little bit more but beats waiting 4 weeks!

To keep myself out of legal crap, I wasn't impressed at all with ISP West, which was very disappointing, cause they have awesome stuff.. I even gave them a second chance, and it hadn't improved, so they won't see any more of my money. 🙁
Most are good. Very good.

Sheez,
What they do???
Only ask as they've always been cool with me?

I have found that it doesn't pay to get one thing at a time unless your lucky and don't pay duty (but thats tax evasion)... Shipping is your biggest cost on a $12 part depending on what it is because a shoe box with a little bit of weight will cost from $15us to $35us
Hope this helps
I can u2u anyone with more and more things that went wrong with ISP West, but generally very slow.. very. Slow to respond to email, slow to deliver the products, just slow. Their problem is that they are trying to keep up with the bigwigs with like 3 employees.. They are trying, but they continue to make mistakes, or should I say made. Every time I dealy with them.. There was worse, but this is generally what you can expect.
