My 71 1300 beetle armrests, are like the grab handle above the glove box (similar). But my 70 1500 had the big chunky armrests. Are the thin ones standard, I have not seen these much as armrests, and don't see them on any of the sites that sell accessories - just the big chunkyones?

does anyone know what the standard armrest was on the 71 1300 beetles??

i have/had a 74 1300 and they have the smaller grab handle style arm rests too.

i am looking around for some bigger ones as they look so much better.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs

dont know if it works for the beetle, but i found that early 80's subi's have nice padded armrests that fit straight up to the holes on bay kombi's in the place of those horrible steel grab handles that the bays had.

y'know, they usually have a long-perished piece of rubebr wrapped around them, originally had plastic caps to cover the bolts on the end and are attached just beneath the doorhandles. both of my busses have had them.
