There was a thread on here sometime in the last week - with somebody asking how you can tell where your VW was manufactured. Can anyone point me to that thread, or tell me again......would be really interested to know about ours.

Well.
Between 54 and 79 VW actually had assembly plants setup in Brazil,Australia,South Africa,Belgium and Indonesia.
Aswell as the original Wolfsburg and Emden plants in Germany.
You really have to run you body numbers to find out exactly where it came from.
But,the cars that were assembled out of germany and brazil were only done from CKD kits.(Complete Knocked Down)
As the late model Bugs 1970 on never left Germany to OZ it would of had to of come from Brazil.
In kit form.
