Thanks all, yes its coming along nicely. Been putting in a lot of hours lately. Hoping to get it going by the Parade (which is on the same day as the DOVW🙁). Pretty much everything is in just finishing off and some minor interior work. Combo guage is not working but that won't stop me from driving it anyway.
Gee, most people said off?? I am surprised. The fogs will be operational so will try them out first and see if they make a difference at night. If they do, they will stay. The car is still 6v so I will need all the lighting help I can get.
Will post some more pics later in Members ride
Cheers
Raf

if you want to leave them on, you should put all stickers over it so it looks like one of the old school rally cars.

I prefer them off, I think they spoil the nice sweeping lines. Is it possible to hang them under?

Nah, see under the bumper...those vents. There are specific fogs/driving lights that go in there.

I love the over riders.....

and the foglights would be better bolted to the bumper...
a bit too high on top of the over Riders ...

Fog Lamps should be low to cut thru the fog.... although
they don't reflect off the fog that white lamps do....
I like amber fog lamps and will be adding some to My Beetle.. german ones of course......
I have Bosch QH driving lamps..
and Hella H4 Quartz Halogen Headlamps...

A VW owner in the US, buys 6v quartz halogen bulbs [that don't fit a VW] and re solders them to a VW headlamp bulb base.. He uses the Headlamps We have in Australia, not the sealed beams... Our type of VW headlamps are actually illegal in most states of the US.... they are supposed to be sealed beams.... I'm sure someone sells the 6v VW type Quartz Halogen headlamp bulbs... P43t ... or at least they did... a few years ago...

rectangular fog lamps under the bumper would be safer...
those odd shaped amber fog lamps would be rare these days.... maybe better to keep them in a box......
