I am posting this for an old friend of mine who is a retired VW mechanic of 40 years. He has some complete gear boxes and some incomplete. All items are serviceable. As he has no computer, is early to bed and has been ripped off before, I said I will handle all initial contacts and pass only geuine enquiries to him. I will answer all questions that I can but as I don't know all the different types and tech questions I will have to ask the seller which means there may be a delay in getting back to you.

Yeh, I can understand the question. This guy is genuine and you can come up and talk to him look at the box and probably pick up some other bits as well. It would be worth your while to take a few hours off to come up.

Also if you want the other gearbox fixed for a very reasonable price he could do that for you.
