Oval bonnet question

G'day all,
I would just like to know if every year model oval bug has the extra bolt hole for the bonnet prop?

no there are 2 different types from memory ...
Look for the flat area under the VW badge
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Thanks for your input Dave. Yeah I know the bit about the flat section under the badge, just wasn't sure about the extra bolt hole.

I think that bits all the same the difference is in the doubler section at the rear of the bonnet.... early ones are different to later ones....

As long as its got the support hole and a flat VW Badge section i dont think anyone knows the difference apart from a few experts ...

Wots the problem are you trying to find one especially fora 54 ???

The thing is that mines a 57 and the one on it at the moment has the bonnet prop attached to one of the bonnet hinge bolts. I once saw a 54 and it had a separate bolt hole for the prop. Anyway the other day I was looking at buying a 57 bonnet that was still on the car and it didnt have the extra hole either. The problem is that I dont know if these are the original bonnets for these 57's.
