Credit where credit is due again to Classic VW (pacific) thanks Roy,
The stuff arrived when I was told it would, and I also saved a hell of a lot of money, about $700.
Also as I have said before, Creative Engineerings stuff is THE best, I thought their pop-outs were good, but the deluxe trim is even better.
Quality stuff.
Did take about 7 hours to fit but I was on my own and I do things a bit anal, I drilled the holes then sprayed fish oil in them and then put a big dollop of silicone on the end of the screws to make sure it was a water tight seal so it wont rust.
Here is another excuse to post some more pics.

We make it happen!
it was sweet before, but man that is real class 😉
Red insert matches the red interior perfectly.
I think I got the stuff from Roy or Brooke at Classic VW (pacific) the new place in QLD that is supplying quality goods at very very good prices.
Jokes apart, if Roy had started this venture 2 years ago I would have saved a hell of a lot of money doing the bus up.
Everyone I have spoken to is amazed at the prices.
I will not use anyone else, after getting prices from Roy of stuff I had already purchased I cant believe I had been ripped off by so much.
I dont mind people making a profit but at sometimes 200% its taking the piss.I have already mentioned I bought 2 mirrors for $130 each, Roy can supply the VERY SAME mirror, made by the same people who made mine and sold in England by the same people who sold mine to the dealer over here.
Roys price $45.00 each, I spent $260 when I should have spent $90.
Why do we get ripped off by so much
Anyway I dont mind giving free plugs when you get service like this, Thanks again Roy and Brooke.
Cheers
Dave
Have you built that pagola yet out of the packing, hope you dont mind but I have told everyone who has had delux trim to send the packing to you, is that ok?
i wasn't sure about the red insert.... but now i've seen it on.. i couldn't imagine another colour in there.. lookin good.
i would take it off thats not original its almost like cutting windows into a panel lol
i thought silicone actually sweats and holds moisture and will cause rust
looks awsome ,dont sell it and let someone else destroy all your hard work
Mate looks fantastic 🙂

Yep Im wit u on dis, tak off n fil ols up, yoth
Hey looks good.Well done classicvw Pacific you stand above the rest of these vw shops buy showing loyalty to your customers.JVLRacing
looks great! are you going to highlight the vw on your hubcaps in red to match the red inserts ? I hope you used a neutral cure silicone because if you did not, the other type has a acid etcher solution to cling to steel but will rust out if left in open surface.
Problem: I got probed by Aliens last night...............and I think I like it!.........E.T call ME.
Call me dumb, but I thought silicone was salt based? Maybe I am wrong..
Anyhow, that looks the ducks nuts mate.. sensational. I spoke with Jeremy all weekend basically(ClassicVW Vic./Tas. Division), and they have some lovely stuff.. gotta start saving.
THE LOWEST WITH THE MOSTEST BLING BLING WINS!!
would the silicone work with the fish oil ,maybe i am wrong but i dont think that the silicone would matter because of the fish oil.
anyone else know different
I think if every one used acidic silicone it will be good for business, remember replacement panels are available from ClassicVW(pacific).
Dave sell your bus while you still have one to sell!!!
have ya ever heard "she be right mate" or "good enough for a sheep shed"....or was that "chook shed":thumb
Looking absolutely fantastic Dave, a real credit to you. The deluxe trim looks a treat too!!
Hasn't that lifted it? Not that it wasn't superb before. It took seven hours, but I reckon you'll stand and gaze at it for many more. Congrats!!
Thank you to all for the great comments.
I had a plan on how the bus would look 4 years ago and had always wanted the grey and off white, The original plan was also for deluxe trim with a red insert to match the red interior.
Aftet contacting a few dealers here and getting their prices (around $2000 for American shit )I then contacted Creative direct, the cost of getting the trim was just too much as they would only ship it by air as it was too long at over 3 meters to send by boat as it would not be guaranteed, and I could'nt justify spending nearly $2000 just for something to make it look good.
Then along came Classicvw(pacific) my hero's.
This is why I will always give them a good rap, they have managed to let me complete my bus in the way I wanted it in the first place, at a very good price.
And dont worry about the silicone I have checked and it will not promote rust, Also this bus is swimming in that much fish oil, a cloud of seagulls can be seen above me when I drive.
Now just as a teaser, I have my next project to think about, It wont take 3 1/2 years to do this one.
It will be another split( what else) but thats all I am saying.
Thats why this might be for sale as I think I have done too good a job on it and I konw that sounds as though I am up myself but the original idea was for me to use it as a camper and be able to take the family away, but with a 2 1/2 year old I am worried she might damage it. I say might be for sale as I am also thinking , well if she does damage it I will just fix it again.
Still not sure of what to do.
Cheers
Dave
