There is even considerable rice influence coming into the VW scene!Rice-Boys do not exclusively drive Japanese cars.

vwfool, im not an idiot. of course the bastard should have creamed me, what i found funny was that as soon as i rolled up he started revving his engine and creeping foward waiting for the lights, giving every indication possible that he wanted to teach me a lesson for happening to stop at the lights beside him. my little car has 0 acceleration, so i dont understand how i ended up ahead (beside reflex), maybe he missed a gear or 3. i just reckon after all his showing off with revving and everything that it was pretty darn funny for me seeing his face in the rearview, and yes, as soon as i hit the legal limit he did come around the outside and pass me.VWFOOL wrote:baybuscamperkid wrote:was cruising along dorset road today, on the way back from an interviex, and pulled into the left lane at lights where the road spreads into 3 lanes, forgetting that the road shrinks back to 2 lanes just after the lights. so as i pulled up to a stop i took a look at the car that was sitting next to me. it was a clean latemodel skyline on p-plates. the driver revved it a bit, and despite my better judgement i decided to see if i could make it to the merge before him. so when the lights turned i hit the accelerater (quite softly actually, as i expected to see him flying past), looked to the left, couldnt see him, looked back and low and behold he was already eating my dust. made it to the merge safely ahead of him and laughed all the wayt home. incase you were wondering, the car that i was driving that beat a skyline off the line? a 1986 1.6l auto Ford Laser!!!😀
thats sounds like a mate of mine who always reckons he can outrun faster cars just coz they dont race him off the lights, ever thought the skyline wasnt trying, i mean cmon, a laser would never beat a skyline in a real race.
