Well after years of being the car outcasts aircooled vws are now the flavour of the month in the custom car scene[rod scene].I have been asked to get a few rides together for a display of our hobbie at this years customs nationals held in Victoria.So far the Oildrippers rides will be present.Im speaking with Paris and the Volkommen boys to get there cars there also Sasha and the Deluxe boys.I need fresh rides the likes of some of you off this forum to show your ride on the day.u2u you me if your interested or simply reply to this here post.peace D

VWs are hardly outcasts at rod and kustom events. Some VW people are.
Dunno Matt, some people on here don't know when VW shows are on let alone Rod shows.. I don't know when it is on.. Does that mean I shouldn't go too?:duh

What it means is that if you aren't in to rods and kustoms then it's best not to roll up en-masse. It's situations like that which give VW people a bad name at those shows and events.
Do you think there would be enough people on here interested enough to roll up 'en-masse'?

Lee, you'll have more fun at the Nats anyway. I took my 66 Beetle in 2001 and had a blast. Try hitting wayne up to put one of his monster engine's in for the dyno chalange.(borrow that is). Last time the 4 cylinder winner only got about 150 hp.
he is trynig to convince his young apprentice to stick the race motor in his vw for the show, but he won't do it.
this will be my second nats, the first one i went to my cousin took out best modern contempory car, then the year later he took out best special effects paint.

Have we got any start time details etc. Also where dose everyone want to meet to cruise in. The ferry runs from 2min up the road from me at crib point. People are welcome to meet at my place if they like.

Sorry for lack of an update but i dont have a p.c anyway the dates are 7-9 January the place is phillip island.The idea is to show our rides.The idea coming from certain rod clubs interest in slammed accessorised aircooled volkswagens.There will be bands ,beer ,bbqs ,whatever goes its a top weekend.Plenty of camping sites etc.I will be speaking with chopper to find out times etc and will post em asap.I think a show at this level is what the phat vw enthusiests deserve so get involved and help create more much needed shows.D
