Did you see the new TV commercial for Sharp Aquos TV's ... This prick is driving a great looking KG, he's having a shave or something, takes his eyes off the road ... Meantime some fat bastard is kicking back in his pool ... When the driver of the KG swerves to miss a girlie and careers off the road into the the fat bastard pool ... Unless that is brilliant digital TV wizardry that KG hit the water and by now is probably shite.
This sucks - I cannot stand the fact that advertising agencies and film companies have to use what remaining classic cars are left to smash and trash just for the joys of filmaking or creating a memorable moment!
I see this so often ... The classic car wether it be a VW, old Ford or a Moris Minor should be preserved for eternity ... We need to start the RSPCCC - Royal Society for the Prevention & Cruelty to Classic Cars!!! ... Thanks for listening ...I feel better now!

I agree with you completely. I hate seeing classic, rare and unusual cars being trashed for the sake of entertainment. I dont' even like seeing modern cars being trashed for the sake of entertainment. I especially hate those tv programs where you win a new car if you let them crush your old one. It seems like a perfectly good waste of a perfectly good car.
Is it possible though that the car was a heap and just prettied up a bit to look good on camera? If the car is knackered and beyond repair then you might as well give it one last chance to shine.

Even if it was bodgeyed up for the shot - I think that any KG in any condition would be worth restoring ... Anyhow!

As soon as I saw the KG in the air heading towards the pool I had to shut my eyes ..... I just couldn't watch !

i'll guess they might have done it in 3d.. might have been cheaper to do, and they would have more than once chance to get it right 🙂
well i hope it was 3d

They should be shot, what a waste of a KG.
The other night i was in the dining area & heard a scream coming from my partners(purplet3) work room where he plays with all his car bits & also has the t.v on.I race down there to find out if hes o.k & he says....."there was just this ad on telly & a KG went straight into a pool!!!"
Oh....Snap.....!
I haven't seen the add, but I know what You mean....
I hate seeing cars at the wreckers unless they are smashed up... just a waste of a good car...
When You see the production figures for Karmann Ghias ,
type 3s & type 4s etc and yet there are only a few left...
Makes You wonder where they all went....
I do suppose there are more karmann ghias on Aussie roads than old holdens or fords.... We can be thankful,,,,

I finally saw that ad today. I would say that it is more than likely CG. It's such a simple sequence it would be pretty easy to make. Just the bit where the car goes in the water of course.
