sweet mate i used to race bikes on snow, bow i just ski, i tried a few of them and just ended up eating powder. congrats. near where im from theres a bunch of fellas known as the bmxicans, they ride harder than many people i know
thanks for the kind words lads
Landings are suprisingly easy, just stretch your legs out and everything straightens up nicely.
Cal67, if there was DH around here, I would ride it! The closest place is about 35ks away..
Shouldnt be a problem when the bugs on the road with a nice roof rack made to accept the bikle 🙂
.
Hi Chewy,
I know the problem, it is hard to find a good DH track, up here they are all getting turned into conservation areas. Definately go the rack on the bug, try and keep with the vintage feel, have a look at mine! Nothing quite like the look of a hot bike on a hot bug.

Yeah it's a 04' Kona Coiler which is the same as your old 01' Stinky, 5" travel front and rear, Drop Off comp forks, Aerial chain device and all the other goodies. Good to see a single speed bike!! All this talk makes me want to ride!

Reimagined/Recycled/Upcycled Cool
last time i tried a jump like that on a mounty,
i landed and snapped the handle bars and used my face as a brake.
was a bit pissed, it was a good quality bike.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs
hmmm last time i tried a jump like that i broke the goose neck on landing (rusted heap of shit!) and got stabbed in the stomach with the remaining shaft as i stacked it! talk about no control! try hanging onto some handle bars on a landing that arent connected to the farkin bike!! :jesus:jesus
everything dies baby, thats a fact..
maybe everything that dies one day comes back..
put your make up on and your hair up pretty..
and meet me tonight in Atlantic city..
yeah, but airfooled, just imagine the story you could tell if you had successfully landed it:thumb

vwtyp2 also races downhill !!
YOU HAVE JUST BEEN DAKED
don't worry it's a VW thing
Sweet mtn bike. How did you rig the mounts onto the rack though? I am looking at how to do it for my roadie and possibly track bike (if I ever get off my arse and start track riding again that is).
I was thinking of doing it off the rear bumper and up the rear window like the old ski racks.
'Ah, whatever................'
For the mount on the roof racks, I'm planning on getting a 110mm spaced QR hub (dont know what size roadies are??) and mounting it to the roof rack, and also having a slot for the rear wheel to sit in.
Then all I have to do is lock the front wheel onto the hub, put the back wheel in the slot and tie it down and she wont be going anywhere.
.
Hi guys,
Attached are some photos of the mounts I made, I still need to put a ratchet strap over the bike for extra safety. I then use a long shank padlock through the pedal and top bar of the rack. Works a treat and get plenty of people with the What The??? Look.
