I was reading "vw X-mas spirit" thread and it made me think, I don't know how many of you travel overseas but I always find it so comforting when I see a beetle no matter where it is. It's like seeing a friend, someone you recognise when you're away from home. I remember back in the UK we had loads of Indian and Pakistani immigrants and I noticed a lot used to drive VWs so it was probably the same for them being in a foreign country and it was something they recognised and trusted. Do any others here feel the same?

I always feel happier when I see a beetle, karmann or bus. The sleek lines and smooth curves are almost sexual, and who can go past a smiling beetle without smiling back?
