Yes the March edition of VW TRENDS will be the Last...

The publishers are looking into doing something else...
Maybe someone else will start another Magazine up as happened in the UK when Total VW disappeared and
ULTRA VW started up...

I think VW Trends started up in the late 80's, I used to collect it but as with all the US mags at least 50 percent is taken up with Ads......

My earliest issue that I can find here is Feb 86, which is listed as Vol 5 No 2, that makes (by my bad maths) 1982 the start of VW Trends.

Great edition this one, on the cover is a modified bug that now stands 8 ft tall!

In the Club pages in the back, there are only 4 Aussie clubs listed......Flat 4 (Canley Heights NSW), VW Club of Victoria (Melbourne), VW Custom Club of Victoria (Melbourne), and VW Drivers Club of QLD (Valley, Brisbane). There ya go!

I actually bought it for the ads. The articles were good as well but the ads let me know what was around to buy. Sad to see it go.:cry

🙁
I can understand why. Total VW was good, but not enough radical cars. Ultra Vw is another altogether. Finally a VW mag with a full colour format and more than a handful of feature cars per edition. VW trends just would be able to compete.

I am hoping Hot VWs might get the hint and change, but I am not holding my breath :o

ph billet, you should send some pics and stuff to ultra VW, I think they might well be interested, if not you can be sure they would put it in the reader's rides section.
😉.
