G'day, Merry Christmas to all.
The Desert Spliity made it to Darwin!!!
1500 ks in 40+ heat at 80 - 90 kph and about 20lt to 100ks fuel guzzling (trailer on behind) (perhaps the main jet has fallen out). Bit excessive but on the other hand prob helped the motor run a bit cooler with all that fuel flowing through. And didn't really notice the cost as we pay $1.70lt at home so when it's $1.30 and less ($1.09.8 in Darwin) you think it's a bonus.
Well Cheers to all, will be in Bendigo for a couple of weeks before heading home.
Ian.
$1.70!!! Crap
where the hell do you come from, and how do I stay away from there!!!! I thought $ydney was expensive at just over $1.10 early this year. Here in Bris its great at $0.86.9/litre 🙂
Hope you enjoy the drinkin of New years in darwin, and hope you saw lots of tourist kombis on the great migratory trek.
'Ah, whatever................'
Merry christmas to you in the top end from the bowels of Australia ...... sunny Victoria !!!!!

G'day all, "Happy Christmas day".
We're flying to Melbourne tonight on Virgins "Red Eye", leaving at midnight, getting in at about 6 am, should be fun!!!
On the trip over to Darwin we only saw 1 Kombi on the road (Bay Camper) and I got excited and waved and got "NO RESPONSE", I was devistated (well almost) and figured that maybe he wanted a Mercedes Winebago mobile home but could only afford a Kombi and was pissed to see someone happilly driving one.
Well Darwin has turned on some Tropical Monsooal weather for us and it's pouring as I type this.
Cheers and have a safe and "Happy New Year",
Ian.
Merry Christmas to you up there in wet but warm Darwin...:rudolf
What were the roads like up there in the wet....? Will you be able to get back into the station in two weeks time? I guess the major roads are sealed now as so many people do the NT WA drive now...so just wondering
Enjoy your visit home 🙂
Sounds like you've had a good trip, got any pics?
I used to live in the Top End at Gove, dont remember seeing any Dubs up there tho.
