I miss the UK weather sometimes, when its 40 degrees and I want to get cool.
Its a lot easier to get warm than it is to get cool!
😎
awww come on people, the weather in the uk is shit house its half the reason we left aint it???
the only thing worth missing is the dub shows oh and the nasty doners from *EL KEBAB* after 10 pints of stella, hell sure as shit can't eat them things when sober .. 🙂 haha

I like getting all our rain in one storm rather than even it out with drizzle all year round. Maybe that's why it's Englands 'Green and pleasant land' the grass doesn't get time to dry out! Mind you even though we never got much snow at the Elephant & Castle I do miss cold winters and a decent beer.
Pity Buck Palace didn't flood and all those inbred insestuous theives didn't all drown and rid us of the curse of the "born to rule".
I didn't think anyone left England because of the weather (or cardboard food) but to get away from the vile stench of the royals and peers.
Guess your not a royalist then???
Funny thing is they gave you guys the choice to keep them or get rid of them as your soveraign rulers and you voted to keep them!!
They didn't give us the vote in the UK, I wonder why?
As this post is wondering away from the weather, I do miss the shows.
dont get me wrong I love Australia I wouldnt be here if I didnt.
But the shows here are no were as good as in England(I know there is more people) .
In S. A we have 2 shows per year and you see the same cars every year.
and some of the cars you only see twice a year as well?????
I even miss Bug Freeze.
Cheers
Dave
i'm from adelaide.
but i lived in england for 9 years...
i too miss bugfreeze!
there's nothing like driving along at 6a.m in a beetle with no heaters, scraping ice off the windscreen while driving and trying to remember why you've got the worst hangover of your life.......
great stuff!
kai
p.s. i dont miss the weather one single bit!
Even with the weather at least there was 2 -3 day events with camping etc. The shows here are good but no overnights which is a real shame.

dan.
i agree mate, the one thing we are truly lacking is the oportunity to drink (etc 😉 ) for 3 days straight in a field full of vee dubs!
i wanna start a new show!
we need a real show, where ya turn up on friday arvo, get hammered and wake up sunday evening to drive home.....
the bits between arriving and leaving always seem kinda blurry.
kai:duh
what about valla
And the Rod runs! I used to belong to a club called The Smoke City Wheelers and some of the runs (read here drunken camping parties that ended with a Show'n'shine) were absolutely brilliant. Up and down the country and to Belgium and France on a couple, mind you I was single and no kids then so that may have something to do with it!
yeh, valla....
one show.
i missed it 'cos of work this year.
and from what i was reading, wasn't it the last valla ever?
even so..... we need more big shows.
nothing compares to all the like minded vw types you meet when your trying to bash tent pegs into the ground, or stumbling around at midnight trying to remember where the hell you're camped.....
kai
another one is Byron dubfest,it goes from friday night to sunday arvo at a huge camp ground in Byron bay.
All that is needed are huge volumes of dub people and then shrink Australia down to the size of Victoria and have lots more long weekend holidays or maybe a 4 day working week, and ,and and,and ............as if.
Come on everyone, make an effort to get to any vw event you can,the more people and cars go the better the show will become.
How nice it would be if all the people on this forum could go to a weekend show at once without distance, work, family issues etc......I will write a letter to john howard right now,I'm sure he can help.

Valla - went down there expecting an English style weekend, Saturday night the bar was near empty, no music. Sunday lunch bar was closed.
Byron fest - thought it was a great weekend, ideal place great people, can only get better with more attendance, only let down, no loud music till 3am and loads of beer flowing. fell asleep half way through a video of some fella who went to Mexico and bla bla bla
