oky doky my little rant for the day.

i was bored today, quite bored. so i went down to the garage to find a little job to do. i find an old sports steering wheel my brother owns. he bought his landcruiser and it came as a spare. i dont think he's seen it for the last two or three years.

i cleaned all of the rust off of it, taped up the rubber and leather, undercoated and sprayed it a sexy red. perfect, no drips, no cracks, beautiful. then i black taped the leater, no one will notice the huge split seam. there was a hole in the rubber so i trimmed it into a perfect circle. the chrome bit that sticks out now looks beautiful.

so i put the steering wheel on the dining room table to suprise him when he got home from rovers. he comes home... and goes off at me
"i might have had plans for that, i could have sold it one day, tomorrow your stripping it back to how it was."

not a word of thanks, not one. how can this be so? granted its not mine, and i didnt ask permission, but seriously. not an ounce of thanks, appreciation, nothing. he thinks i did it so i could have it... it doesnt even fit my car.

am i wrong or is there something wrong here?

Urinate in a jar, and pour it on his crotch while he's asleep. It's still gotta be warm though, or he might start asking uncomfortable questions...

Home from Rovers!

Well that is not the spirit of Rovering. Tell him to have a few beers, talk some shiat and have more beers, talk more shiat, oh yeah talk more shiat and Rover stuff. Don't do any official stuff, drink more beer and then check out the Venturer girls that may be ready to cross over to Rovers, drink and then talk shiat until you are ready to go home.

Taaa daaa. See no agro included. This is what I did when I was in Rovers and loved it.

Seriously he needs to chill out. It is only a freakin steering wheel, not a lung.

Tell him there are probably hundreds of people that will give him another one if he is so concerned about it.

Tell him to live in mud for a couple of weeks and think about not even having a street anymore (Tsunami victims) and forget about HIS BLOODY STEERING WHEEL.

I dunno give him a kiss and say you love him for being such an understanding brother. 🙂

I still like the urine idea. It works even better if he comes home realy pissed one night. Warm it up in the microwave if you have to. Not too much though! A Urine scald can really hurt and be very difficult to explain.

It's pretty evil though. I don't have a brother, but it seems like the brotherly thing to do?

What's in this glass BTW?

He has to be your big brother, that's how they are I'm afraid. My brother was the same and now I have 3 sons no matter what happens my eldest treats his younger brothers as if they were just dirt. Somehow it must have something to do with survival as none of this is learned behaviour, maybe there's something there for David Attenborough to investigate!!?

Just standard brotherly love I'm afraid.

I wrote a car off years ago, tried to sell any salvagable parts only to find my brother had already done so. Hadn't asked or told me.

So I took one of his projects to the crusher.

Payback's a bitch...........😎
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

Cut his brake lines and wave as he hurtles down the street and crashes into a powerpole and faceplants into his crappy un-painted, un-loved, un-taped steering wheel.:P

You could give us all his name and address and we could get as many AVD members to mail him an old steering wheel as possible.....

That should keep him quiet.....

I can certainly see your brother's point of view, I wouldn't like my brohter doing anything like that without asking. On the other hand though, if it's essentially an old wheel he's forgotten about, then perhaps he was just in the mood to have a go at you.

So tomorrow are you going to strip it back and let it rust? I bet he'll regret asking you to put it back as it was if you did.

sorry kikko but i have to agree with your brother, it wasnt you steering wheel to touch. im sure if you had asked he might have said yeah go ahead, but its kind of a respect issue, you touched his stuff and changed it with out his permission, plus what was your real motivation for doing it, if he thought you did it just coz you bored that a double whammi, apoligies and he might say its all good, next time just ask for permission first, even just an sms would do.

this would be the best thing to do, however hes lost his licence till march and both of his cars are off the orad anyway :party

oh yeah, and thanks for the honesty of everyone. this wasnt a sympathy plea, just makin sure that i wasnt insane. ive looked at it from both sides and figured 'yeah i would be pissed if it was something i liked/wanted/used' and even if i didnt, i still did just paint his stuff.
but im stickin by my guns that the sunovabitch should have at least said thatnks for the thought or sumthn
