Was told that merged headers weren't available for t3's.

WRONG!!!

Look at these babies!! 1 5/8" bore . Think you'd be very close the rear valance though and maybe a slight bbody mod would be required.

Bloody nice though!

Dan😉

They are from a Pommy company called Turbo Thomas. They do many different mufflers aswell. Do a search and have a look , nice stuff and well proven.

As with any decent extractor , they aint cheap! 170 in uk money plus postage etc. Roughly $400 plus post.

I'm in 2 minds on what to do to be honest. As i'm from the uk i can get them sent as presents from my folks and no duty or tax applies. Or i can pick them up when i'm over in July. Seems daft to spend $220 now on some half decent ones only to be replacing in 6 months.Thinking i'll go the whole hog , spend the rent and buy these babies.

Merged t3 headers , yum yum!

I've got a set of extractors from Bugpack. They are no where near as shiny and they are stock diameter, but otherwise they look pretty similar.

So Dan do you know what size motor they would suit.
I have a very ordinary set of no merged headers at the moment cost me $450 though as I need them in a hurry.
Whould they go alright on my 1678 with 40 IDF's.
Maybe we could organize a bulk buy keep transport costs down.

I have a merged header exactly like that but not chrome. So i guess not exactly. Well at least i think it is the same. Was on my old notch. Sounded sweet as. Just hanging up in the garage. Will try and get some pics next time I am down the shed (in another suburb). Might be enticed into selling it at those prices.

Also I am sure mine fit not problems. At least i don't remember the body being modified.

Merged
http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1262

Non Merged

As in the pic it is the lenght of pipes flowing properly into the collector.
The NOn merged is a more convienient way of fitting a header at the expense of power

Will be interesting as to what the final price will be after duty etc.
I called my mechanic last night and he said the ones he uses on the fomula vee cars cost about $900 each but are less complicated design but garantied equal length tubes mandrel bent high grade steel.
So I recon your looking at at least $1000 bucks to get something custom made. This is looking sweeter all the time.

I was told recently I can "get em in Australia, so don't bother looking overseas.." I didn't want em, as teh quiet ride of Nellie is something a little different, so I didn't persue it other than that.

Can do though. Might not be quite like that quality though by the looks.

The company is only 15k from my folks place back in the uk. I'll send the old boy along and pick them up.

I'll get him to send by boat (5-6 weeks) and send as a present with a stat dec form stating they are not for resale.

That way it's s/h goods that are a prezzie and not from a company that includes invoices etc.

No tax or duty applies

Nigetype 3 if your interested i could bring out a set for you aswell and you'll pay no duty/tax either and can go 50/50 with the shipping costs. We'll save heaps and have some seriously nice extractors.

I'll wait to hear from them regarding costs and let you know as soon as.

Cheers Dan😉

After a few conversations with Mr "Turbo Thomas" Rich has struck a deal and answered somw q's.

All systems are hand made using an engine to build off. Systems can be changed anyway you like , ie have the merged collecter longer / shorter etc.

The T3 system shown is based around a S & S T3 extractor from the states and is a standard fit. Larger bores are available aswell as the standard 1 5/8" . J-pipes come with the extractors , again available in larger bores.

Rich also produces awesome T1 and T4 stuff , either off the shelf stuff or full custom. Now even though he's in the UK costs are not that high. We are not talking your average crappy extractors here either , these are proper jobs!!

To give you an idea , my extractors will come merged slightly longer , bent upward slightly , include J-pipes for 160 uk. Thats roughly at $400 for a set of quality , proven extractors. Obviously mods cost mores . There is the tax etc bringing them in direct however i may be able to help. Rich had agreed to give a decent discount on orders from Oz and if your interested in some give me a shout .

Funny old world , this guy used to cruise around the same places , same times back in the 80's in the uk. Funny old world!

p.s Nige you have u2u!

Dan😎
