Photoshopped ... there are some genuine pics around that show what the waves really look like....
yeah as if - dooms day dude :jesus
Let me out, When I call my name
IGOR is ALIVE !!!! 😎
matt has got it in one.
the wave wasn't that big, it was the force of the wave that caused most of the distruction, wasn't it??
small waves (compared to that in the photo above) with heaps of power is what i thought caused the destruction.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs
Yeah that's right. There's no way the wave would be that shape that close in to shore. They would have been bouncy scary whitewash. No drama or nice surfable stuff, just unstoppable wall of water
when it comes down to it, a tsunami isnt really a huge 'tidal wave'
i tsunami in open ocean may only be 90cm tall, but when it hits the shore theyre roughly 10m. problem is the rest of the ocean swells to 10m as well, thus the sh!tload of water that swamped the place, and how they can travel so far.\
waves like that cant sustain themselves for long.
i know everyhting about the ocean, i have dreadlocks.
A quick search on the www will show that quite often a tsunami will come in more like a fast tide than a wave or wall of water. They usually get higher quicker if there is a 'funnel' effect due to shoreline shape.
One of the safer places to be is a couple of k's out from shore in a boat in water over 500m deep. The tsumani will pass with little effect.
apart from the logic guys, its an obvious photo shop.
It's hard to tell what's real these days with photoshop being around but that pic looks fake to me.

Rod, that is really morbid !
I can't believe that you posted that.

🤘
Yep that would be a photo shopped pic...
Here's a couple showing what it looked like...with a Tsunami....they are small on the surface with massive turbulence below raising the water like a huge deep in coming tide....you are faced with a wall of water and not so much a wave...it breaks when it hits objects in it's path....it sucks things under
Here's another....the people were looking/spectating.....later pics showed them running for their lives...I guess with these...because they are not mountainous waves you don't realise that you should be running not watching a lot sooner......plus they did seem to happen very quickly
They say that ships well out at sea don't notice a Tsunami because of the lack of huge waves...
They sound like a massive train coming toward you....so NASA say and as you can hear in video footage....:jesus
Yes those looked real to Me Jen,
but these others are photoshop....
or Perth & Darwin would have been in Big trouble....

Look at the artifacts in the photo. Man, how much alcohol did you consume to appraise that photo as possibly real? Look at the whitewater splashes on the road, and the wave at the back is at a different resolution too. Sorry Dude, but that's one of the worst photoshop disasters I've ever seen!
bus914...u sure that one is real F#!!...I'd be shi!!!! myself majorly sitting out there!!!!...It doesn't have a crest......common surfers...explain
Great image isn't it.
I think they say it's the reef emptying in Tahiti? I've seen that image for sale at surf shops.
