Should of done a sub for Ultra dude...as the man said it IS the best mag by far in the UK. Volksworld has slipped in its poor content and its write ups a fair bit since Ultra came on the scene. However, theres a few new people such as Jon who's doing a fine job on Volksworld, and there arent so many errors, such as wrong month on the front of the mag, or the wrong titles in the headings. However with Seume and Knighty bringing outstanding issues of Ultra with great photography (they have probably the best automotive photographer on board Mike Key) and also the features just scream out quality, with no stupid opinions on a contributors own personal inaccurate view on the scene as a whole. All in all 2 mags to keep you going, but I know which one I would of subscribed too.

BTW theres always problems with the subs at Volksworld, check Volksmoan forum for weekly whinges of when the poor guy who took out a sub is due to receive their issue, whether it be their first mag or its later than when it hits the shops here. Theres many examples. Its not really the mags beef as its an out of house company doing the subs, but the internet has a great quality of word of mouth, and it looks like its about time Volksworld addressed the poor service.

I understand that it was a gift T2.

Ivans still editor, but new boy Jon has been writing features, and they also have Mike Pye writing articles as well.

Paul Knight used to work for Volksworld and of course Seume was the first editor and brains when it came out back in 87. They started Ultra in August 2003 and its top dog.

Matt Keane does some top How To's in Volksworld. Depends on what your after. If there is a particular How To that you maybe after I buy and sell early Volksworlds so may have what your after. I also have tons of Trends and Hot VWs.

I have been in the UK scene for many years, and I organise all the nostalgia displays of old show cars here in the UK, so I know these guys well, who work for the mags.

Happy to help

Ah Danny Boy hows u?

Well while were all surfing on this giant rock in space...the lil UK is dark right now (night time...not evil forces lol), a lil cold, no doubt a frost tonight...u guys ever had frost???

As for the VW scene here, its same ole same ole at the moment. Plenty of nice cars being built, and many being built in time for the Volksworld show at Sandown. Be good to see if the old school look gets knocked on its arse this year, with the resto cal guys bringing it to the top spot, as there are many restos being built.

I have two displays this year at the legendary Bug Jam in July, where I will be trying to top 40 X show cars, as this is the most ive ever had in one display. The other display will be at Bug Boogie, which is Ultra VWs show. Im also venturing into the european scene, to try and bring back some old show cars for them, if they dont come across to the UK this summer. Im also taking a bit more interest in other scenes, and yours being one of them. I have to say that I was releived to see some cars, more of my personal taste, very big in your scene. So I will keep an eye on what your doing. See the Aus thread about 2 pages down.

Stay cool til after skool class of 89!

now did you get an air mail subscription?
or a regular mail subscription?

air mail = on time,
regular = 2 month wait.

check their web site as in the subscription section it states how long it will take to get your mag. (or that might be on the ultra web site)

they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
