i'm still at the same mates place...he had a massive hangover, but i was fine haha.
and yeh, someone has backed into the front of the golf..just about wrecking the numberplate..no damage anywhere else that i can see though.
i'll hammer it out when i go home soon.

Dropped into Hawthorn, then up to Mt Dandenong, back down and over to Jays, then Essondon, then back up the hume hwy.

Hey Im not a Qldlander but I have one foot over the line at Tweed, and I can tell you I would gladly swap some of this heat for some of your cooler weather!

penguin I think it may have been cool down here last weekend...can't remember it too well cos this week has been so busy and Australia day in the middle threw me...it was like a weekend

Took Bel for a drive down the Peninsular on Australia Day...she loved it....it was a hot day so the roof was open and we cruised....packed her in some shade and spent the day swimming n walking at Point Leo..
Dr L is runing sweet after a full service....he hums along again...he was getting a bit sluggish...airfilters changed and oil...makes such a difference...he can breath again
My sister has settled into her new house in Tassie..Somerset near Burnie...she was so excited when she left Thursday night on the ferry

Well I have sorted out the rust. The next thing is the purchase of a 2 way frige, I want an Engel, they are compessor driven and work a lot better than the heat exchange absorbsion type, although you have one disadvange of this type, compressor noise when your sleeping, but I can deal with that to have a frige that can freeze in above 30 degree heat, as we all know in summer thats every day in OZ, plus I dont like any gas appliance in a confined area in a vehical, too dangerous in my experiance, the amount of campervans I have seen burnt to the ground because of fractured or old gas lines or faulty connections has always frightened me off gas friges and cookers, I think its better to cook out side any way, although I would love a 12 volt microwave. I also want a 10 inch TV with a DVD player, I want to be able to hook up the playstation for the kids, and I love to watch the ABC news and Doco programs.
Its going to be a long process I don't want to rush it and find out later I could have done a better layout. So Im in no hurry!

Well so much to talk about.
Finally got the Ford back on the road after replacing head gasket and organisising head machining. Got it running this mornong...One more car back on the road.
ben drove the Kombi to work y'day for the first time....then got a phone call y'day arvo * dad, the kombi is really slow and it's stopped* this was during peal hour traffic on Ipswich rd.
Gathered a bag of tools and off i went...to cut a long story short it was a combination of ponts closed up and one of the carb lonkages falling off...made it home with no dramas.
asked what the hell (being a second year apprentice mechanic) they were teaching him at work and TAFE only to be told all cars these days are fuel injected and electronic ignition...mmmm I can see that might be a problem.
Anyway after having a fleet of 5 cars and on Monday morning only having 1 working where now 4 from 5.....only the clutch cable to go on the beetle.......what a week.
Any hoo the boys were happy as they got to spend a few days to gether in the warm garage together...mind you the beetle is there all the time as ypu can see by the marks on the floor...if you look close you can see where the notch started to mark it's spot....back in the shed now.

Actually gotta fix the beetle clutch cable first.
I tell ya someone has created a monster I've just spent 2 hours researching teardrops...Sue's already given me the "look" but thas it i'm off to the VW nationals next year in the beetle towing a teardrop. (as long as Sue lets me).
