Luckily for us we had a beautiful Melbourne day for the cruise. For all those that missed it, here are a few pics.
Gathering in the morning before heading off
Great day all round, hopefully next year there will be a few more splitties and a few less chokers.
at the beach side BBQ spot
And this is what I call an ocean view, priceless
Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.
Was a great day, thanks Brad for the work done. Sitting around on the beach talking shit and sucking a few beers is just the way to spend a sunday afternoon with the Chicken Chokers.😉
Man did i get burnt!!! in the sun for about 15 min and the ol noggin is really feeling it :duh

T'was the right day for it all right. Thanks to all those who made it along. It just doesn't get any better. Missed Micromatt's beautiful split camper, but there'll be another time.
Few more pics
Nothing like an Oval through a Split. Specially this one.
This was weird..... Was taking a pic of this nice white Commodore driving past when a strange black alien craft appeared from nowhere?????
The crew.

Was so bummed I couldn't go but it was cool to see you all cruising past St Kilda.Hopefully i'll be there next year with my bus.:thumb
I know what you mean about the sunburn Anth,Steven came homing looking like a lobster!!!!:blush
Oh....Snap.....!
Oh crap!
Looks like you all had a hoot. Next time boys and girls. Really could have done with an arvo out on the turps with you all. Never try mixing house renos with pleasure.
I'd like to say thanks to the organisers. I had a great time, and look forward to future cruises. I shall be bringing a hat and sunscreen next time too! Sure was nice weather. Oh, my bus made it home without any further difficulties.
Cheers, Aurel
Hey PurpleT3, that is the weirdest Type 3 I have ever seen. WHo did all the mods on it? Are they mg headlights? And a targa top?
very interesting....still taking it all in before I decide whether I love it or hate it.
have you seen the notchy speedster on this page?

Dunno, no and sort of.
As I bought the car in it's current state of modification, I don't know who actually did the mods. I have seen a red notch convertible with the same style of headlights and from the similarities I think they were probably both doen by the same person. I have heard rumours that there are several similarly converted type 3s around, but have only seen the red one mentioned.
I think the headlights are more likely from a 260Z .
It's not really a targa top as such. The front is covered by a soft top, rather than removable solid sections

I think shes beautiful.....😘kiss:kiss......but then i have a converted splitty panelvan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh....Snap.....!
Had a great time thanks Brad!
