I've seen many kombi's got their roof getting surface rust and I don't want that happen to mine but waxing the roof seems a bit of a job.

How do the kombi owners do the waxing there and how often? Or do you do it at all???

I wish I were 2.2 meters tall or had wings on my back when thinking of doing it. "Get a ladder" may be a solution but I just wanted to know what everyone does here.

You could easily reach on to the roof then. 😉

I have cleaned the fibreglass roof on my kombi camper a couple of times by climbing up a ladder for the sides and standing on the bumpers for the front and back. Still need to have long arms!

I stand on a stool if I'm washing the roof of my wife's 4WD.

on the 4wd we open the doors and stand on the sills. or the rear bumper, but that will about 1/2 there. otherwise mabye a ladder?

if you stand on the front door sills, the side doors, and the rear wheels and rear bumper should be able to get a whole lot done except for the drivers side middle?

two A frame ladders and a plank of wood.

should be able to buy two step ladders fairly cheaply.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs

Thanks, y'all.

I just finished putting wax on, pretty much following what BiX said.

Could cover all front area standing on the sills right beside front seats.
Rear right hand side, I had vent windows open, took my shoes off and stand on the window frame. (my weight is less than 55kg.) There I could cover more than the half way through the rear part of the roof. Then the rest was easy from standing on the rear bumper and the middle rear seat.

Wiping it off maybe a bit harder and will take longer but can be done without a ladder. (^^);

Easy, I polished it once and have had a full length roof rack covering it ever since :-) (see my avitar)
I used to just put a step ladder alongside to clean though.

find a car park with a teared level, park it on the lower level and close, do one side, turn it around and do the other... It wouldn't take long to do...
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
