... well, OK....maybe not 'star', but perhaps have a roll in an upcoming movie to be filmed here on the Gold Coast....
I just had a phone call from a Guy called Steve who is working for the producers of a 70's styled movie which relates to the beach culture in the US (sorry, I can't give you any more info - thats all he would tell me:bounce ) The movie is being produced at Movie World and filmed here on the Gold Coast.
Steve is in charge of finding the 'perfect Kombi' for the movie (after all, what is a surfing movie without a Kombi?:thumb ). He tells me that the producers are looking for a '60's or early '70's Kombi to feature in the film. Mild modifications are OK (the sort of thing that you would see in the '70's), lowered is OK too.
The producers ideal Kombi is a LHD bus (remember that this is a film based in the US), with a paisly paint job (ie: no bright or modern colors - no bright reds, blues, etc) Two tone is good too. The van would preferably come from somewhere on or close to the Gold Coast, however they would consider the 'perfect' vehicle from almost anywhere. Steve is realistic and realises that a LHD Kombi is going to be very difficult to find in Australia, so will happily consider RHD models.
They will require the vehicle for a couple of days, during which time the owner will always be within 'visual distance' from the vehicle. There is a rental fee paid to the lucky 'star' vehicles owner (approx $500 a day - think what that could do to your Kombi)
Steve will need to see the vehicle in person before any final decisions are made (hence the need for it to come from the Gold Coast or close by - if possible).

PS: if the 'perfect' Kombi doesn't show up he would be interested to hear from Beetle owners with similar vehicles (perferably convertables, but definatly with paisly coloured paint, from the '60's and early 70's)

The roof rack / tyre rack clips off with a few bolts if they are in the way. Can be set up as van, camper 8 or 9 seater in a few minutes also.
Also have stock tyres or 4WD tyres for beefy look.
Red/white are factory colours.

Yeah, Roy. The bus is going very well with KYB shocks and anti-roll bars going through corners and curves like a breeze. No rolling! Runs great on highways and seems to get hot drivers annoyed and so eager to pass me up in Holdens, Commodores, and Utes exceeding way past the speed limits on the road. :P
Our cars are the stars already and can make great movie stars as well, eh?

dont you know what a piant is , check the pic of my bus you may not have noticed because its more of a modern piant.
all the cool kids are running piant these days , you can run piant as well roy all you have to do is relax and it will come , there are so many uses for piant out there , i have used it on my house walls and everything piant is great , like i said just relax it will come , think piant
