this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

Bummer Kustom kool,
we had a thunderstorm yestareday that included golf ball sized hail, there was so much water the dogs were soaked and it started flooding down the drive way and seeping under the garage door. The back yard had 2 inches of water sitting in it. it's all drained away now, but guess what, the big back lawn I only mowed yesterday looks like it grew an inch over night.

well i think we can expect more of it. With global warming (either natural or man made) this sort of thing will become more common. had a look at my IFD curves for melbourne, that was a very serious bit of rainfall. 160mm in 24 hrs is an average of 6.66mm hr. which is pretty intense rainfall for a sustained 24 hr period, its normally what would get for a 2 or 3 hr event!!
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

yeah, it has been a really cold one this year airfooled... i dont think its even reached 40 so im kinda dissapointed. last night was blanket weather again... whats with that?? blankets in january are just wrong.
supposedly we are going to be having those freaky storms in february, wonder if they are going to be as hardcore as last years ones.
makes me glad that my bug is off the road for a while with those forecasts 😀

lucky you put that extra plastic on to cover your motor KK, wind was mad here last night. rain made it about 5 feet into the back door, tree on the nature strip is down, helped a guy drag a tree off the freeway entry this morning.

part of our backyard was flooded..mostly gone down now.. the shelter I had over my bug was totally ripped to pieces (metal poles bent too!) it collapsed on her but luckily there's no damage...apart from fact her heater channels are full of water :S (water pouring out heater vents is not nice)

Just lovely typical Melbourne weather 🙂

hahahaha...
I pulled up behind a Hyundai at the lights tonight, it had Victorian rego plates and along the bottom under the numbers/letters it had the caption,

"VICTORIA THE PLACE TO BE"

So I put my 2 bobs worth in and yelled out to the driver, "If Victoria's the place to be, Why don't you #*%+^! Piss off back there"...??!!!!

Funny thing is, he wouldn't answer and just looked the other way at the next lights... Go figure...
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....

Yes Victoria is THE place to be ..... where else can you have so much rain that all the exits from your suburb are closed due to flooding and you can't go to work ????? DAMN shame I had to stay home yesterday !!!!

Sorry about your shed. I saw a guy in Altona trying to bucket water out of his underground garage and away from his new Merc, the brown muddy water was lapping against the wheel arches, I would have been mighty nervous if it was me !!!!
