hmmm... ive got a book that i can scan a few pics out of, will post them tommorow.

funky bright 60s colours? you cant go past orange, lime green, dark brown and yellow. did i mention orange?
orange is very 60's, just take a look at all my kitchenwear:P

are you trying to stay true to the 60's design or just have that retro feel to the living room?

get a flokati rug. a big one. and a low dark brown/chocolate coffee table. preferably a dark brown hardwood one or something with tiles. one big painting on the wall is enough... the rest is up to nic-nax to accessorise with.

ikea is a great place to get retro-feel stuff, and most of their designs are timeless so you can use them for years with any different (but modern) look that you want. do you have a furniture store like SPACE in sydney? they sell both modern and retro but are very $$$.

antique and 2ndhand stores rock... go in there every week and you are bound to find something.
ebay is also good, just be quick to snap it up.

did i mention that i LOVE retro??:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce

two words my man - lava, lamps!

i have 3 currently, looking for some oddly shaped ones now.

shag pile rugs, trippy zebra striping in hot colours, pop art, oh and ceramic bongs make awesome 60s memorabilia. good for vases ive found.

have u tried the 603010.com place.

it's like the build a bug thing...

u choose a room, then the colors, and u keep playing until u get one u like....

then u print it out, and it lists all the colors for the various palces.

u can even change the carpets/furniture and curtains to boot.

hope it helps

Watch Austin Powers for inspiration. I am thinking slick red vinyl seats .... and shag pile carpet and what about one of those bear skin rugs ? the ones with the head still attached ?

hehe austin powers isn't really 60's. its kind of a caricature fusion of 70's and sort of 60's and only the tacky parts of it 🙂

Try not to paint your walls more than one or two colours as it always looks bad if you have too.

Seeing you have bright furniture go for a neutral colour or a beige/white on the walls. Use furniture and other objects to create colour. Its the KISS principle keep it simple!

Last thing you want to do is to come home after a long day's work and see about 5 different coloured walls and lots of stuff on the wall.

oh, and there are some good 2nd hand furniture stores if you are looking for anything retro or vintage

Addison st Marrickville has one place that sells heaps of old stuff not just furniture. Down near the intersection of enmore road

King St newtown has a few furniture stores on the southern end.
