The chrome plater I use has unfortunately lost two parts of my 1963 Golde ragtop assembly. In the past the quality of workmanship and service has been exemplary, but this has been an unfortunate oversight.
He has agreed to replace the lost components but finding them is the difficult part so that leaves me with two options:
A) Try and track down some replacements which is proving very difficult, or
B) Borrow someones bits to have them reproduced
B is an option because the two parts lost are:
1) The latch (hook sorta thing) that latches the ragtop assembly to the body when it is shut.
2) The round chrome washer type escutcheon (not sure if this is the right word) that sits under the handle.
Part 1 could be cut from steel and chrome plated (just need one to copy), and part 2 could be spun out of aluminium on a lathe and polished (both of which I will be asking the chrome plater to organise). But I can't copy something I don't have!
So if anyone has a Golde ragtop in pieces, please allow me to borrow the above parts - I have already tried thesamba.com and ebay but no luck thus far.
Cheers

🥷 And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my house??? 🥷
The alloy escutction ... you can used a door handle one its basicly the same.
The steel hook ..... If i get time and the energy i could pull mine apart and track around it n draw it for you. I think its about 4 or 5 mm thick steel.
Yep d4, it is for the resto project in members rides.
Thanks Dave, I'll keep you updated if anyone else can help out sooner to save the hassle of pulling yours apart. Cheers for the offer, much appreciated.
