I got mine when they were still cheap, and the parlors were old converted butcher or dental surgerys, cause the operator didnt have the expence of tiling the joint for health reasons, not that they were too worried about hygene back then anyway. There were no worries about contracting AID's either, the worst you could expect was a dose of hepatitus.
the prices I see know are absolutely ridiculous, I have been told that the reason for this is that the new Tatooists are "Artists" bullshit! they buy the stencil sheets and just transfer the stencil onto the skin where you want it and they go over it. I rarely have seen a "freehand" Tatooist these days. There are still some Japanese people who are real Tatoo artists who have gone through an apprenticeship system, and then go on to be masters, their work is true art. You can still get a real polynesian tatoo if your lucky, the artist will do it for free if you are cool and know a relo. I was offered once and didn't get it done, I have been spewing ever since.

If your going to get it done, make sure they have an Autoclave sterilisation machine, if not fork out for a new needle, there is all sorts of freaks getting them these days and the extra expence of the new needle has to be worth your life.

jenz i think i decided on like 9cm by 11cm, or close to it, its going on my right shoulder blade.

and for those interested my last night is 4dice, spelling different of course but thats how its pronounced 😎

and mines not cause its trendy but rather because ive wanted to get it done for like a year and a half and just have never had enough $$$ to get it, also i take pride in mine being a custom one rather than one anybody can walk in and have 😉

Thanks for the photo's jenz..love a nice hotrod...thats almost what I got into before I bought my beetle.

Painted all Ben's grey bits on the kombi today...next job is the notch ready for Klubfest.

Took the kombi to work on friday...got a guy who's going to do the hoodlining and attached bits for $200 plus material...booked in for May.

Hey Penguin is your panel beater one of the old school guys who actually knows how to beat panels...have a boot lid on the notch which could use some work.

My brother-in law- is an old school panel beater...and now retired to Tassie to fish....he does such a great job...don't think he wanted to do it for family incase it created a feud...you know the old story..don't get friends or rellies to do it...Arthritis got to him so slowed down on the weekend work...all that lying around on concrete in cold workshops over many years .... he used to be such a master

rob those Japenese tattooists are incredible....seen doco's and went to a tatoo and piercing show which showed the history and stories on it all....amazing

Well I've gotta run again....cook a picnic and off to hear some jazz at the zoo tonight....trying to see a bit of the zoo first....we have a nice day here...gotta make the most of it 😎

i went to a maaad 21st last night. ended up staying at the birtday boy's house. well, only got home at 5.20am and then left at like 9

was a great night (and cheap too :P:P)

my mum would kill me if i got a tat..

Kafer, not sure yet. he has the square so I will check out his work. The pics I have seen of past work looks good to very good. But then, the proof is in actually seeing and feeling repairs. he is only cutting rust out and repairing at the moment, then the square gets mechanically worked, then back to him for final works and spraying. Already got the colour scheme picked (and for Robo, its almost a factory grey lower with a white roof). There is an old school beater opposite where my oval shell is sitting, but he may be a long way away for you. Its at Morayfield!
