Happily washed my car today, then I was looking for a cloth to wipe it dry... couldn't find one in garage or anywhere,
so I drove down the road to a Auto Care shop for "a cloth" & guess what they charge me $12 bux... omg ... No price tag.. I thought they're pretty cheap.. oh well.. I walk out and guess what I saw ... ticket fine for $102 ... the entire transaction and walking took 3 minutes... HOW UGLYz THAT :repuke

They have become particularly savage in NSW. Not sure if other states have followed suit but here the council issues the tickets and they get a cut from each one. Nice bit of revenue for the cost of a minimum wage ranger.
in NSW, you also get slugged points for parking near crossings @ schools etc....

My wife was giving birth and the hospital only has 2 hour parking. It took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to get back to the car and i had a fine for $50 on my windscreen.......from the council...Arseholes. I went in and explained but to no avail...had to pay it:blush

I said since she wrote my ticket and couldn't unwrite it....and sicne i couldn't be fined again, i wasn't moving the car to receive fine in another spot by her again......and walked off back to building.
My friend who parked behind me, and was moving her car feel into fits of laughter at look on the traffic officers face....friend reckons the woman was ready to bust a gasket...

My local shopping centre where i work has timed parking which is regulated by the council!! alot of shoppers would be caught out because they wouldnt expect this at a shopping centre... i think its to stop staff using the closest parking but this shit when you work till 9pm and have to walk through the carparks alone!!
ive got 3 fines so far of $20 but luckly on one of them the silly parking officer forgot the 0 in my number plate so they couldnt track me down :P hehe

You can understand the police ones but the worst ones are the council ones, they have the power to charge whatever they want , they are not regulated, same with any private area, like hospitals etc,
When my daughter was born the only parking was like $5.oo per hour.
I am a tight bastard so we parked in the car park and went inside, when the doctor said it would be a while I mooved the car about half a km away.
Good job to as we were in there for 48 hours before our girl was born and I could leave,

Bad luck dude. I coped a $500 fine once for driving my unegistered car around the block.
Its double that here in N$W, over 1100 for unrego.
And you can get done here more than once in one spot, otherwise people would park on the street for cheap in the city. Its 50 buck a day to park a car in Sydneys CBD.

I've had the exact same thing happen. Go into a shop for 5 mins to pick something up, unknowingly park somewhere I guess I shouldn't have (can't see any signs) and slapped with a fine. Fair enough we can't have people parking in the middle of the road but seriously some of the shit they mke up to get you. I got done once for parking my motorbike "under the overhang of a public building" Those people have to be the most annoying in the world!
I hope there isn't any parking inspectors on this forum cos it would take our lovely VW community about 10 notches down on the respectability scale.
