Well
She is a little better, but at 86 recovery from a stroke and chest infection is not an overnight thing. She is slightly paralyised on the left side and her speech is quite slered.
The biggest problem I have is that she will no longer be able to live alone, and it looks like the only option is a nursing home. Organising this is a complete nightmare, and she won't be too happy about it at all, thats to say if she makes any sort of recovery thats relatively good. I also had to put her dog down, cause it was so attached to her it would fret to death without her, and of course she would not be able to keep it in a nursing home, this has upset me quite a bit, any one that know's me would understand that I have a great love of animals, and ending their life is not a thing I feel good about. I could not take it in, I already have two dogs in a rented house! I will get things sorted eventually, but it's not something that I am looking forward to and it will be a long process.
Ahh well Ill just take Pige out tomorrow and try to relax a bit.

Hey all
Had a bit weekend...wedding yesterday and went clubbing after with son and his gorlfriend...my old girlfriend and he son....got home late...hang over this morning..not enough water...well no water...drinking all day...fine now...just need early night
Just cleaned under Bels wheel arches.....ARGH....tar from the other day....didn't think to look there earlier....maybe black paint would have been good under there after all....I couldn't get it all of...just a few small spots...
I so hope they are not resurfacing any of the Hume Hwy...don't want any more tar on her....
Found a tiny stone chip on her front guard too :cry

went out friday night, club closed at 6am saturday morning, we were still in the party mood so we hit "day dreams" that joint opens at 7am and we party'd in there until MID-DAY ?!?!?!!!!
then i decided that i should go to my mates 18th on that night :duh came home round 1ish and got up at 1/4 to 7 to go to work :o
no wonder im knackerd lol

Rob how's your gran....just came on and saw it....must have been still hung over when I flicked through the posts and didn't read yours..Myabe after some rehab she can be hostel/low level care...more independant and less hospital like...fingers crossed for you...
My mum had a massive stroke 3 years ago...we were told not to expect her to live..she is amazingly strong and is so mobile now...just her speech is a little bad only because of the false teeth and not being able to hold them in her mouth so well....it does seem the mouth muscles are the hardest to get back...she's 90 now....But after all my years as a nurse my mum is the exception...it's her will and strength I'm sure....never seen anyone get it back like she did...I hope your gran is the same
I know what it's like to have it all happen at once....it does get better....I had Jon die 4 months after mum's stroke...and we were getting her house up for sale...she'd just gone into a hostel......Life is challenging!!!
