swerved out of an accident, drove straight home. about 6 months later had a drive in a manual, got pulled over by the police. then didnt get my licence till i was 20

used to also spend many a weekend barrelling around a friends farm in a hillman hunter. no windows. 1 driver seat. milk crate for passenger and a board in hte back for anybody else game. hand brake only really good brake. one full functional brake shoe on the rear. was a hell of a lot of fun. but do remember us using many a tree as brake assistance.

I learn't to drive in a GTHO PHASE 2 & 3 when I was about 15/16 in Tassie, aroun 12-13 years ago. The funny thing is my first car was a 64 beetle. The old man hateded it.
learned to drive at the tender age of 9 behind my mums telstar and my dads mazda 323 wagon. did circles around the paddock until age 12 when i got a motorbike, which we still own.
got my first dub justover a year ago now.
When I was around 15 my mum used to take me into the paddock and drive around until after her nervous breakdown that day...which resulted in her holding tightly onto her seat belt, stomping an invisable brake and screaming stoooooooooooop!!! (I was probably taking corners a little fast, but it was a paddock!). I decided not to let her teach me anymore.
So my brave Dad took me out on the road in his 1966 Toyota Corona! Still to this day though my Mum holds her seat belt tighly and stomps that imaginery brake everytime I drive her around!! hahaha

My driving teacher said I was one of the best. Dont know if that was before or after I smoked the tyres of the Mitsubishi colt trying to get out before the truck came. Mum and Dad let me drive the company Hilux too... until I reversed over my bike.
I was lucky enough to get my licence in NZ when I was 15. Wasnt too hard. There was a 20 multiple choice written test (and there was only 5 versions of the test and you could practice them beforehand), a 5 question verbal test, and then a lap of the block. I turned left out of the registry then right, then left. Had to reverse back around the corner keeping the rear wheel on the gutter. Turn right again, right, left into the registry. STAMP, thankyou very much. Came back to NSW and tried to get them to transfer my licence, just a matter of filling out a form. Just as they were about to stamp the new one (had already stamped VOID on the kiwi one) the woman next to her picked out that I was under age. Had to wait for another year before having it transfered.
But then I drove (and crashed) without a licence and stuffed that up, then when I finally got it I drove too fast and stuffed that up... but I am a good boy now.
