Hey all,
Have any of the Type3 experts out there managed to remove the rubber knob from the end of the fuel filler flap cable??
In the manual it just says to 'unscrew' it, but I have been trying that for ages and although It looks like I have made some progress it now seems to be stuck and wont come any further...
Suggestions?

Just as the manual says. Mine did the same. Took ages (or at least seemed like it.) Gave it an extra "twist" at the end and all was good. I thin it went on a little easier too. Have had not problems with it since.

Cool, but mine seems to be turning, giving a clicking noise and then turning more, bugger.
Will have another go tomorrow. It the only thing stopping me removing the front fender. No doubt I will find more rust under that one!

Have you removed all 4 screws from the body? I'm wondering if the whole thing is turning and that's the clicking noise. If not then you may need to "force" it.
