Well,

Finished rewiring and testing Leo's electricals
today - all OK and then I went to fix the fusebox in the
bracket and it cracked and sorta fell apart at one end...
hmmmm..

Anyway I need an 8 fuse split bus fusebox, I think anything
post 60 with with 8 fuses will work.....I'd like to get one ASAP if anybody has one lying about.

Thanks

Threw one out on Friday, as I was cleaning the garage to pour the concrete, might have another, will just pop out to the pile of bits and have a look.
Back in 5 mins

Sorry, had a look, only got an early 6 fuse one.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks for the look dave,

I quit for the day day after that happened - just had
that funny feeling that you get sometimes that the two steps
back was going to happen if I kept going!

Thanks,

hella does have a generic 'straight through' on all poles
8 fuse box (3217) - it could be made to work but I've just
rewired everything to suit the stock VW splitbus fusebox.

Here's a pic of the backside of the fuse box I'm chasing.
You can see two isolated poles on each end (top right terminal fell out when fusebox broke). The six middle
poles are all 'doubles' - ie one terminal in at top going through
two fuses to two output terminals (these are all for lights).
One low, high or parking light input has multiple outputs to
various individual lights on the vehicle.

I'm unsure if 8 fuse beetle is the same - hope the pic helps here.

And the part number 211937037 (from May 1960) for the 8
fuse box is bus specific which doesn't bode well for beetle bits.

The earlier 6 fuse box is the same as beetle though if anyone
ever needs that bit of trivia - part no 111937031

Rob

the one you have in the pic is out of a Beetle.

A Split Kombi one has all the light fuses 8 amp at one end... and the 2 main fuses 16 amp at the other.

I have a origional Split bus one if you need it. will clean it up for you as well. Let me know.
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Gees dave,

You're a bloody legend - I don't care what all those
people say!

The wiring diagram shows exactly what you said for
kombi and I thought 'hmmm' at that time when the box
in leo had one main fuse at each end! Wish I knew something about beetles!

Anyway I've rewired (wire run lengths etc) to suit the beetle fusebox. So Dean I'll gratefully take the 8 fuse beetle if you have one to spare!

Thanks!

The old one fitted in the bracket OK. If you sorta
tilt it in sideways the lip hooks on the bracket and
holds one end (and a screw holds the other).

Although this one was always cracked (before it turned
terminal) which may have resulted from doing this sort
of thing....

sorry - sudden attack of the greeds - I'm over it now (I think).

Dave the beetle fusebox (top pic) would be great, in my anal

wired and clipped everything together to suit the main fuse at each
end now......

I'll buy a system 8 quickpic tomorrow far Sat night tattslotto and U2U the numbers!
