what year models where curved windscreen beetles ?

and are 1303 & 1302 beetles both curved windscreens ?

can the greater minds please impart some knowledge on this :thumb

1303 had the curved screen and had the 2 bolt strut- L bug
1302 had the flat screen and normally had the 3 bolt strut- S bug

there are always some over lap with different models, eg some of the very late S may have 2 bolt struts etc

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

I will be picky Bix and say it was the other way round

1302 - flat screen, 3 bolt struts recirc ball steering steel dash 1971 - 1972

1303 (early) L Bug curved screen, 3 bolt struts recirc ball steering padded dash 1973

1303 L Bug curved screen, 2 bolt struts recirc ball steering, padded dash 1974 - sort of the common one

1303 (late) L Bug curved screen, 2 bolt struts rack and pinion steering padded dash 1975

Well, I ain't no expert but I'm pretty sure my '73 L has curved screen and 3 bolt strut. Front suspension has cast/forged bottom arm.
I wrecked a '74 also with curved screen and 3 bolt strut. Front suspension had pressed metal bottom arm.

hmmmm..... i thought the cast and pressed metal were 2 different lengths relating to the 2 bolt 3 bolt set up???

Hm.. I'll have to have another look I guess. Don't have body off the '74 any more to confirm things though.
