No matter how many times i see this bug, i just can't get enough of it. It is up there in my top 10 list.
Saw this rock up and thought that it was awesome, took far too many pics of it. Only realised it had a rear suicide door when looking at ClubVW site. Now that is cool.
How nice do these look? Either way you look at them, they both look like they were meant to go fast. And i love the front seats and matching rears in the road going version (Mmmmmmmm Leather)
It may have been for sale for the last couple of nationals, but it looks cool. Road going buggys are awesome.
And a plethora of bugs.
Love the ariel on this thing, would have looked sweet with an ariel ball on it.
Mmmmmmmmmmm Clean bus.
Mmmmmmmmmmm Not so clean bus:P
Black and shiney H20 friendly veedubs.
Sweet type 3 wagon, love the racing stripe.
Oh so cool, and i asume uber fast subi powered porsche replica.
Finally the bug that took my eye as soon as i saw it,
exterior and interior colour combo is great and and the wiring under the bonet was so clean.

Sorry to rub it in Fossil,
But it was a great show, fantastic cars, and some best of all cars that were on thier maiden outing.
I always love seeing new cars, it just gets the imagination flowing.
What kind of stingy boss told you after the event that you could have had the day off?

Crap, have to get next years time off (and make sure easter isnt my sister's birthday!! damn, wheres the people to talk to about that?)
I do like the peach bug, but am not too sure about the wheels.... not sure why, just something personal I guess.
There's a new bug in the carpark heree though. A nice white 60's one with powder coated bumpers. Its got an aussie made boomerang sticker on it and a VW badge (like a dealer one or commemerative) on the rear deck lid... may have to stake it out soon to find the owner 🙂
'Ah, whatever................'
PS with posts and pics like the Nats and other shows produce... God bless the DRN (particularly when your home telephone is off line... bloody telstra!)

"They may be water cooled, but....." Pffft... Man, its a new century. Time to embrace VW in its entirety. Its attitudes like this that keep waterpumpers away from the nationals.... Just my 2c...
Great Photos, though. I was amazed at the standard accross the board. The Bugs, Kombis and 3's were better than any other year I remember. I cant believe there were 2 type 3 KG's there. Beautiful.... I was also impressed with the amount of H2O stuff that came. I still havent seen any pics of my car, though... On the whole, I reckon it was the best Nationals ever. Now, about those drags... bloody WSID!!!

Steve i am a big fan of your car and other H2o veedubs,
I didn't get a shot of yours as i have plenty from the ACT show that we drove down to.
I am a vw fan regardless of thier cooling system.
I even voted for the black NB as my peoples choice.
I love the grey Mk2 but i do think that he could splash out and get those rims narrowed a bit.
It looks like the tyres are stretching to cover the rim, and i loved his interior.
Just a bit pissed that i didn't get any shots of it actually.

Fair enough... Just thought the turn of phrase was unfortunate... Cheers.
Yeah, the grey Mk2 has taken the stretched euro look to the nth degree. I think Steve Carter got a shot of it...

As you noticed, I tend to get a little militant about the Air/ Water thing. I have had my pill now, and I feel fine...😎
