Just back today after 5 days at Fraser. Went with a mate who has been going there for 20 years and was a good guide to all the interesting spots. The fact that he had a Toyota Parado (recovery vehicle) was also handy to cart the extra kids and stuff. My new big wheels worked great in the soft stuff and all the inland tracks were not a problem. Still plenty of grunt in first gear but 4th is a problem as I now need more power! Could only make 60 kph into a strong head wind today racing the tide to get to the barge!

I only got stuck once, at Eurong going ONTO the beach when I followed a troopy full of back packers. Gave then a 100 mtr start then headed off. All was going well until the damn troopy bogs infront of me and the sand was too deep to stear out of the tracks. Leason.....dont go until the track is COMPLETLY clear!

Heaps of people taking photos of the buggy and asking lots of questions. Funny the Prado didnt get the same attention!
But I can put shite on the Prado, it towed a 1.5 ton van up some very soft tracks and we were very grateful when it started pissing down rain yesterday!:thumb

VWCOOL,

there is no way I would go on the skinny tyres! The ones I have on the front were my rears before and got stuck in only moderately soft sand. With this set up I was able to pull off the inland tracks in really soft deep stuff with no problems!
