Just checked for you, they have the later ones with the plastic knobs, for 27 pounds each, not bad really for new repos.
I think Custom And Commercial might do the earlier ones.

Yes they are the early ones.
Thinking about it I will have to check for you on what year they changed, mine has the early ones.
I think they changed to the plastic knob ones in 60.

Having a closer look as the pic as it is a bit light, You are right Roy,
The earlier ones are supposed to have like a ribbed section running along in the middle of the latch.
These might be of a type 3 or something.
The later ones in the first pic are right though.

Both will fit, later ones are deluxe and earlier but open more...1st ones are later split ones...type 3 ones have the turn thingy, type 3 ones are crap on a split...

Yer i agree that these are slightly differnt, i have one with the line/ridge down it on one of my early splits, still at least they are available.

I got a few sets of early and late I think and I need late so if I can find them I'm happy to swap a set of old ones for a set to suit my 66.

i also have these , are mine the early latches i have them on the front of my 65 they sit perfectly for the front .
are the second ones volksfolks posted a pic of spoon latches that open up further , if so i might have to look at getting those
