How long is a piece of string?

If you do none of the work yourself you are up for thousands.

If you want it done properly you will be up for thousands more.

If there is rust and you cant weld, $$$$ plus time.

A mate of mine just spent about 10 grand doing up a beetle, and that was with a cheep paint job.

wen we had Millie done up - she was in pretty ok body condition bar little bits of rust in sils and a patch that had been bogged - all up - interior and paint and stereo - EVERYTHING cost $15,000
Had all of it done for us tho... I think your question should be how much can i afford to spend on it then look at your options and wat parts SHOULD b professionally done n do the rest yourself.

Kat.

You have given 'zero' information.

Year, condition, mechanical, body, interior, glass, rubbers, custom, stock, what do you want, what do you need, what do you like, how much have you got, can you afford to spend double, what?, who?, where? pics, skill level, more required.

Other than that anywhere up to $40,000?????

ur rite, i have to ask my self many questions.

my car was restored about 6 years ago

but theres heaps of chips in the paint, rust bubles on the side of the front hood, and paint missing on the rear apron. also on the left side bottom rear quarter it failed the magnet test!!!

i guess its still ok. but after seeing "the bell of the ball" at the nationals, i fell in love!!! that car is sooooo beautiful! i wish i had it!. how much would it cost to fix it up like her ??

Well.....around the $30,00 for me...Bel had a lot of rust work done...and putting the clip in (I could have travelled for 12 mths easily on that if not so into my VW's.... lol )

Also the cost of buying things like the rag top clip....buying the pop outs for the back..solid visor etc etc in this

You would never get it back...Shannons will insure her for $18,000

It's a luv job...

I was waiting for you to answer this one.
You are the most qualified to answer.
Great job by the way.
As you know I am not really into beetles but Bel is nice.
I also like the fact that everything was done properly .
Do it right the first time.

Cheers
Dave

It depends what you want to do. If you want to put a hot motor in it, upgrade brakes, suspension it'll just keep on going up and up.

The paintjob or engine alone could cost 20,000. It's all a question of how far you want to go and how soon you want it done.

I've just finished spending 3 Grand on a mini that I will probably never get back. This didn't include paint or major engine work. VW parts are cheaper and that is one reason I am looking for one.

Mine was totally done by others....so way more expensive than doing some yourself...or all of it...mine would be top end for a standard beetle...if your's has a good body then knock some more $$'s off...how's the interior...if good then less again...

A lot will depend on the finish you want...type of carpet...I went wool square weave..do you want the chrome redone...etc etc..

yep this is a good question .. but you must have some sort of budget before you start, and an idea of what you want. What do you want a show fully restored car or a nice looker daily driver ???

Otherwise its " HOW LONG ISA PIECE OF STRING "

My Sea Blue .... i stoped counting when it went over >>>>> sorry i carnt say

Where do you live in Sydney .... I suggest you find a shop close to you so you dont have to travel far to check it out.
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
