Do all VW Beetle 1500's have a McPherson strut front end chassis? How can I identify it from normal shocks?

How do I identify whether a chassis has a beam front end?

Where the vw Beetle 1500 models built with collapsible steering wheel columns?

When choosing a doner vw Beetle 1500 for a beach buggy, what factors should I look out for (Points to consider before buying).

Please explain the definitions of professional terms cause I'm new to this sector. Thanks.
