After some fun in my garage tonight, I thought I'd ask the question....what do you hoard in your garage?
I worked out that the problem with my oil light in the buggy I recently bought, must be a faulty sender unit. Not wanting to wait another week until the weekend to buy one from somewhere, I realised over dinner that it looked similar to a oil sender I removed from a 76 Kombi that I owned in the 80's.
Unfortunately I mentioned to the missus that I think I can fix the problem, if only I could find the oil sensor from the Kombi......of course I was in trouble for hoarding stuff that I'll never use. 'We don't have room...', etc.
Anyway, 4 hours later and a huge ransack of the garage and storage boxes, and I found the sender......whacked it in the buggy, and it runs like a beauty. Funnily, my wife said nothing.
Now, just let me add that there was a period of probably 14 years in there that we didn't own any VWs and didn't even think I would ever get another. So......having a stash of a few bits for VWs was a no-no....
So, whats hidden away in your garage?
i have no garage/shed at the mo..
brought a new/old house next to the big smoke wif only a little block to play on..
so all the STUFF is under my house.. about 3-4 foot in height..
let me tell ya a major pain looking for any bits n bobs..
so when you next look at your garage/shed n how full it is.. i'll be thinkin of how lucky you are wif all that room!
(am working on a big block n B.I.G. huge shed to store crap again) oooohhh can't wait.. just don't tell the other half 😉

Against my wifes better? judgment i like to keep VW bits and pieces and anything i obtain of some value gets put in the corner "because i might need it oneday..." Having said that I've just given away 7 complete engines and enough bits to rebuild them all to some guy i saw with a VW in the carpark at the shopping center....now i have one corner of my shed back:thumb....to build my other new buggy:thumb:thumb:thumb

Yeh...just rebuilt my Manx but am not happy with it so Brad gets to play with it and do a Subaru conversion to it. As for my latest one.....hmmm....time will tell:P

its not really hoarding......but its taken a while to collect 9 different colour milk crates, used to house VW bits n pieces . Better than those crappy plastic storage bins ! cheaper too!
NO garage or shed, But a room at my girlfriends Parents place contains all 8 fuchs, flash kit, venetian blind, sunvisor, all my accesories, and My room contains all my interior, sunroof cover, spare seat frames, airbag kit, rubber kit and all other little misc interior bits and pieces.

My better 1/2 has 4 wardrobes full of clothes!! And they're cramped in!!!!!. 12 boxes of shoes, that doesn't count the ones that she wears and that I can see, and other precious things from the 70's!!
